The main street does a dog-leg, and shortly after there is an open space, showing that you are now on the bank of the main river, with a bridge over it linking the two halves of the town. The trees are rooted in the interstices in the stonework of the bridge. The main river is lined with restaurants with terraces by the water's edge. |
